yesterday i had to go into work on my day off- because i love working 6 days a week... one of these weeks i will work 5 days (or only 40 hours, i'll take either)

sunday part of the roof in the kitchen fell in (fyi: jennie is a superhero) the roofer is coming out today to fix it

i'm scared about how the rest of the week will go...

i spent last night in the er because i cut my finger on a broken picture frame at work. i learned some things:
1. i never realized how much i use my left hand
2. cuts on your knuckle bleed like a bitch
3. it's hard to get blood out of an engagement ring
4. if you can avoid an er in center city on saturday night, do so. or you will spend too much time on an uncomfortable chair next to a homeless guy coughing up something foul
5. they use weird tape instead of stitches on knuckles
6. the night owl bus around closing time is hilarious ("dude i'm sorry. i'm drunk. i'm gonna go get high!")
7. sometimes the bus driver falls asleep at the terminal and if you want to leave on time you need to wake her up
8. guinea pigs are not forgiving about dinner being 4 hours late

i don't know what what was going on today @ work but it was like the british invaded and tore the store up (seriously like every other customer was from the uk, and yesterday they were from ireland). all sorts of stuff was broken (snowglobes, bottles of vitamin water). it was insane.
now- doctor who and baileys. that'll fix everything.

duke's in the hospital with pneumonia.
i just spent my next paycheck at the hospital (vsec). i'm not sure how i'm going to pay for the rest of his treatment or anything gonzo might need now... i guess we'll figure that out.
this is not how i wanted to spend my day off.

UPDATE: duke died. he was 6 weeks old.
